Me? I left school at sixteen. Wasn’t for me. Couldn’t see the point at the time really.
But the summer holidays finish and, you know, all your friends are back at school, and you’re just hanging out.

Then the next school holidays finish, and you’re still just hanging out.
I didn’t really see it myself at the time – but I was definitely getting depressed.

My Mum – she’s cool – she was looking out for me,
she said she’d support me if I did year twelve at the Adult College.

It made all the difference. Being with other people just like me.
They were at school to really learn. It was great and I passed.

Now I’m enrolled in a Certificate Two in horticulture.
I’ve got a part-time job at a nursery – which helps me learn – and it pays!
When the sun comes out it’s a great feeling.
Getting the certificate was really good step.
